I think I’ve enjoyed just about every kind around, from the boxed stuff to fancy steakhouse lobster mac and cheese, and everything in between. I love it all, but what I really love the most is a classic homemade recipe, one that you can share at family parties or make as a special treat for dinner. As much as I love fall, I don’t always love what comes after it. In Michigan that often means below zero temps, white-knuckle driving conditions, and a strong desire to want to hibernate in bed for the next three months. Sure, waking up to that first sparkling white snowfall of the year can be pretty exciting. But that feeling tends to fade pretty quickly as the beautiful new snow turns into endless amounts of gray slush, you forget what dry feet feel like, you have to plan an extra two hours to plow the driveway and start the car before work, and the cold air turns into “omg it hurts to breathe” air. Here in Michigan we have an abundance of Coney Island restaurants. Each one is a little different, but they all serve pretty similar food. They’ll have coney dogs of course, which is a hot dog with chili, mustard, and diced onions. They’ll also have lots of Greek inspired foods like gyros, Greek salads, saganaki, and more.
