Sometimes, the simple things in life really are the best things. Take, for example, chocolate chip cookies. Few things in this world are better than a warm, gooey, freshly baked chocolate chip cookie dunked in a glass of milk. Something about whipping up a batch on a rainy Saturday afternoon is just so soothing to the soul.
Sometimes, a simple chocolate chip cookie is all you need. But sometimes, when you need something really decadent, incredibly chocolate-y, and deeply satisfying, you need to take it a step further. That’s when you need chocolate chip cookie pie.
Chocolate chip cookie pie. Think chocolate chip cookies, but in a deep dish pie form. Yes, it’s just as good as it sounds. Perfect for happy occasions, sad occasions, or any occasion really. Celebrating a holiday? Having a stressful day? Or just making Friday night plans? Chocolate chip cookie pie is your answer. No matter the circumstances, you need this in your life.
The first chocolate chip pie I ever tasted was the Toll House Chocolate Chip Pie featured on Very Best Baking by Nestle. It’s a pie version of their famous chocolate chip cookie recipe. Using this same idea, I decided to turn my very favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe into a pie of my own.
The result was a dangerously delicious pie that’s simple enough to please everyone, yet rich enough to satisfy a die-hard chocolate lover. This may be the best pie I’ve ever tasted. And I’m not exaggerating!
Trust me, you’ll want to make this as soon as possible. It’s perfect for serving on Thanksgiving, and it’s a nice option to have for those who aren’t crazy about all the pumpkin desserts. Serve it warm and definitely add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Complete perfection!
What You’ll Need:
1 9-inch deep dish pie crust
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
This pie is SUPER easy to throw together, especially since we are using a pre-made pie crust! It’s really just a matter of combining all of the ingredients and transferring them to the pie crust. Beat the eggs together first, then add in the flour, butter, and sugar. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts, pour everything into the pie crust, and bake for 55 minutes in a 325 degree oven. That’s it!
The best thing about this recipe is that it only takes 5 minutes of work on your part. After that, you can let the oven do the rest, and in just about one hour you will have the most delicious and decadent dessert ever waiting for you!
This is my go to dessert recipe whenever I’m craving something super rich and chocolate-y, or when I need to make something easy that I know everyone will love. You can never go wrong with a homemade chocolate chip cookie pie! I hope you love it as much as I do.
